Pandemic Response Accountability Committee Executive Director Jenny Rone named USDA Deputy Inspector General

05/06/2024

Today, Michael E. Horowitz, Chair of the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC), announced that Virginia “Jenny” Rone, who has served since April 2023 as Executive Director of the PRAC, has been selected to be the Deputy Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

At the PRAC, Ms. Rone played a critical role in developing an innovative data analytics vision and pilot for shared services across the oversight community, setting the strategic direction for the PRAC’s upcoming “Blueprint for Enhanced Program Integrity” report, and establishing a staff learning and development program. She previously served as Assistant Inspector General for Analytics and Innovation at the USDA Office of Inspector General. Ms. Rone also held leadership positions at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service at the U.S. Department of Treasury, the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General.

###

The PRAC was established by the CARES Act to promote transparency and support independent oversight of the funds provided by the CARES Act and other related emergency spending bills. In addition to its coordination and oversight responsibilities, the PRAC is tasked with supporting efforts to “prevent and detect fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement [and] mitigate major risks that cut across program and agency boundaries.”
